Overview

In 2011, YOU have the opportunity to take your laboratory safety program from good to great to AWESOME!!!  The Academy for Lab Safety Excellence will help you discover the secrets to lab safety that have taken others years to acquire.   This Academy will:

  • Give you the confidence to be successful in your role as a laboratory safety officer

This Academy is a perfect way to advance your safety knowledge if you:

7. 9/14/11 - What's new in waste management

8. 10/ 12/11 - Fire, electrical and compressed gas safety

9. 11/9/11 - Training methods that won't put your staff to sleep

All of the conference calls will be held at 1 pm ET, noon CT, 11 am MT and 10 am PT

  • Timely updates via email with lab safety information before it is posted on the website or in the Safety Savvy newsletter
  • Some audio conferences with guest experts on a variety of lab safety topics
  • Sample safety templates to make documentation easier
  • Discounts on featured Safety Lady® products
  • Ten (1O) P.A.C.E.® contact hours after successfully completing the Academy (Options #2 and #3 only)

 

The overall objectives are:

At the end of this program, participants will be able to:

  • Locate up-to-date safety information from a variety of expert sources
  • Prepare or modify policies and procedures to improve laboratory safety at your institution
  • Provide effective programs to educate staff on laboratory safety issues

 

The requirements are:

  • A commitment to join the Academy which begins in January, 2011
  • Time of 1-2 hours per month to learn your craft and become safety savvy
